Another year in the books! It’s been an awesome year filled with new experiences, adventures, and friendships.
In total, I published 65 posts in 2018 including this one (with one more to come). I’ve noticed that many of my favorite posts of the year have come in the last few months, and the blog has been seeing substantial growth during this time frame.
To celebrate 2018 coming to a close and a new year beginning I thought it was only fitting to recap my top posts from the year. As always thank you for following along and I hope you enjoy catching up on any of these posts you may have missed!
#1 – Pursuing What You Love: My Experience Working in Minor League Sports
This was my favorite post of the year, as it discusses my story of balancing pursuing my passion for sports with finding a job that offers career growth and income potential. This is a topic I feel many people can relate to, as we’re all trying to figure out the right path to take in life. I’m grateful for how my career has grown and how I’ve been able to get to this point.
#2 – 9 Steps to Crush Debt & Reach Debt Freedom
This post clearly lays out the steps we took to pay off $55,000 of debt ($40,000 student loans and $15,000 car loan). It was quite a journey for us, with sacrifices, obstacles, and many lessons learned along the way. These steps can help you get started on improving your financial situation and start crushing your debt.
#3 – Thoughts on Dave Ramsey, the Baby Steps, and Financial Peace
Dave Ramsey’s program was a big part of our debt payoff journey. In this post I give an overview of his program, how it benefitted us, and also discuss the modifications we made to fit our situation.

The people around you have a big influence on your motivation and attitude. Surrounding yourself with positive influences will be a big push towards reaching your goals.

Breaking down goals into small actions help them become much more achievable. Small, consistent progress over time leads to massive results.
#10 – 3 Lessons from Steve Jobs on Loving What You Do
This post recapped Steve Jobs’ Stanford commencement speech, discussing the pursuit of a job you’re passionate about.
Bonus – Our Student Loans Are Fully Paid Off!
This was our biggest accomplishment of the year, and our most significant financial win to date! We were extremely excited to get our student loans fully paid off in March of this year, and then our car loan in July. This post celebrates that accomplishment.
